We have been very prolific lately, isn’t it? Of course we are! After waiting for so long, we are very happy to annouce that our distribution agency sent us the physical copies of “Solar Time’s Fables”. That means that the pre-order starts now!
The release month is September 2017 and we can’t wait to bring you live our musical creation. In the meantime we get ready for it so…
Hi dear readers and listeners! We are very happy to share our first videoclip with you!
“Agni’s Dynasty (Fire I)” is the single of our second music production “Solar Time’s Fables” which was published two months ago through DarkTunes music group. Now you may enjoy this song through a visual perspective and we hope you like it!
The video concept
The lyrics of this song are inspired by the Indian god Agni who represents the energy of the fire in the Vedic literature and also means literally “fire” in Sanskrit. We created a complete new story from it to give our videoclip that interesting touch. You can read the complete description on this link.
Who’s the new guy?
If you already watched the videoclip you might have noticed that there’s a new drummer playing. Sepp Coeck is our new session drummer. He joined us two weeks after Maxime Moreira decided to leave the band. His decision took us by surprise because we didn’t see it coming but Max had his reasons to take this step. Here are his thoughts on the subject:
“I am really sorry for this but I don’t have the energy for this anymore and there are other personal reasons. It was my pleasure meeting you all, playing and learning with you all. Thank you for the great times. I hope that we can still meet each other sometime at a concert and grab a drink together. Again deeply sorry Isabel and thank you for understanding”.
The fact is that Max recorded a gorgeous album along with us so we are very thankful for that. We wish him success and happiness with his new choices in life. If you didn’t have the opportunity to watch his performance, visit our YouTube channel and take a look at our first studio diary episode or go to a gig of his Death Metal band named Anthrophagus.
Sepp Coeck is the guitarist of the Dutch Trash Metal band X-Tinction and drummer of the Metalcore band, Encrypted. He has a great technique, versatility, style and motivation. His first rehearsal with us was actually during the filming of the videoclip! So we are very lucky and glad we found him. We hope you can also see him playing live with us soon…
So in order to give you the right perspective of “what’s cooking”, here you have his personal opinion about us: When I first heard that Fabulae Dramatis were looking for a drummer, I started the same way I always do: checking their background. I don’t want to cocky and don’t want to sound like “I’m the best drummer ever”, but I do get a lot of requests for playing the drums in a band. Mostly I turn them down ‘cause I couldn’t find anything that makes those bands unique. I am someone who wants to challenge myself and try things that make me evolve as a musician.
Fabulae Dramatis has some kind of a spark that few bands have. I already know we will have a hard time to find appropriate moments to rehearse. But I am sure that if they have the right amount of patience with me (I do have a stuffed agenda with a few bands and a few jobs), that this can turn out to be something beautiful.
My first real-life contact with the other members was during the recording session of their upcoming video clip for “Agni’s Dynasty (Fire I)”, (the first track on the new upcoming album). It felt quite odd to address everyone in English at first, but I guess it’s just some kind of habitude one needs to adapt. After that came the first rehearsal,… To be honest: I have the feeling that the other members have the right professional-like attitude to make this band have the qualities that can make a band bigger than just the average band”.
What about the release date?
We almost “hear” you thinking… Yes, indeed! We already have a release date. For now we can tell you that “Solar Time’s Fables” will bring its light in September 2017. Stay tuned for the exact date! There are more surprises to come.
In the meantime, enjoy our videoclip following this link.
Introduction The main story is based on a Hindu deity named Agni, who represents the fire energy.
Agni rides a goat that is his faithful servant. His goat represents the earth’s firepower and energy. Agni is sometimes represented with two heads and six arms that symbolizes his duality of nature of fire. Warmth and destruction. In this context, that duality is performed by two different characters, Agni and his servant goat. The rooms where these two characters act represent a “spiritual world”, a parallel dimension. Take into account that in the original story there´s no gender differentiation, however in our story both characters represented are women.
Plot
Agni’s silhouette is displayed against the curtains. Her servant goat opens a chest and gives her an insect as an offering. Agni devours it. A flame comes out of her mouth representing the power of fire that incinerates everything.
The servant goat takes a mirror out of the chest and observes her reflection. She is frightened by what she sees and offers the mirror to Agni. Agni then takes the mirror, as she gazes at herself in the mirror she doesn’t seem astonished by what she sees, given that the servant goats’ reflection is what she perceives in the mirror.
Conflict
Agni asks for more objects to devour. The servant goat finds something in the chest. A puppet that seems interesting. She’s fascinated by its form and beauty because it reminds her of humanity. She falls in love with the puppet and doesn’t want to offer it to Agni. She plays with the object and seems to be happy, enjoying that short moment. Agni’s fury is visible through her eyes and holds her royal mace tight, showing her discontent.
Again, Agni demands for more objects to devour and punishes the servant with her scepter when she refuses. The puppet is thrown back in the chest and it stays there, for a while…
In the meantime, in another room, Agni and her servant goat look at themselves in another mirror. It is at this time that the servant goat realizes she is Agni’s alter ego. They sing.
Climax
To soothe and entertain the fire god´s energy/fury, the servant goat plays the harmonium in a gesture of submission. Meanwhile, the puppet (representing humanity) escapes from the chest and recovers its freedom. Agni and her servant don’t even notice it.
Further in another stay, they continue discovering their duality, looking to each other through a window and trying to merge into one new entity. In fact they become one and dance moving their multiple arms.
